This meat pounder is a great quality, and feels heavy and well made, but not so heavy that it's difficult to use. Used this to point some chicken nice and thin for a scrumptious chicken picatta, and it came out perfect. It has held up to several trips through the dishwasher and is ready to make its next meal.
Not quite as heavy as my previous meat tenderizer

I was looking for a meat tenderizer; I previously had one by Good Grips (?). I was only able to find the KitchenAid one, so thought I would give this one a try. It arrived in a timely manner but when I opened it, it seemed very light weight. It works, but you have to put some effort in to it.

Well balanced, light and large flat head. Makes me wondered why I improvised for so long

I’m sure this meat mallet works just fine but it is not dishwasher safe. For me, anything that touches raw meat goes in the dishwasher. I’m glad I noticed the small print on the back before removing the packaging. I returned it for one that could go in the dishwasher. The fact the new one was cheaper so just a bonus.
not as heavy as I am used to

I am used to my great grandmother's meat tenderizer which was much heavier than this. Because this one is so light, I have to put in a lot more work for it to do is job. Although it seems well made, I would not recommend this model if you have an older tenderizer in your kitchen.

This product works exactly as stated and also comes in handy for brain smashing those zombies during the apocalypse, all jokes aside it’s a very solid product, you just put some plastic wrap or put meat in a ziplock and pound it thin, great for chicken parm, veal, fried steak etc...
Sturdy and works well

Bought this to replace a wooden one we had. Don't know why we used a wooden one in the first place because it kept falling apart. We opted for a metal one that was one piece to avoid the head part popping off. It has been great and part of our biweekly use to make chicken katsu. It's also light weight enough that it doesn't make you tired.

I really liked this product until it started to get black spots all over it. As best I can tell it's either rusting or there's some kind of metallic coating that is rubbing/wearing/chipping off. In its current state I'm not confident it's still food safe so I am going to have to throw it out. I wouldn't recommend running this through a dish washer or letting it soak. Dry it off immediately after washing it and hopefully you won't run into the same problem I did. All of my other kitchen utensils are stainless so I've never had this problem before. For as well as it functions I'm disappointed at the quality of materials it's made with.

This thing is huge and heavy. Remarkable meat pounder. Only thing is finding space for it. Doesn't fit in my small kitchen drawers

Great. Secure grip yet light weight. Has a large surface area which is a vast improvement over my old one . Only drawback is it is hand wash only… Why??

I am beyond pleased with this meat pounder! Using it helped out with certain recipes that I was using a rolling pin for. The fact that it was Kitchen Aid, made me feel confident using it! I am a big fan!

I love this. From a women who has been using a pot to flatten chicken for some time now, this is a dream. It’s heavy but not too heavy, it has a great shape for a solid grip, and it can be put in the dish washer. I am very impressed by the design and durability of this product.

Light weight and handy, doing the job what it supposed to do.. Only problem is it's hand washed only and one sided. I guess most of meat mallets are hand wash only with some reason..? Anyway it's easy grip and easy to wash out so I don't complain much. Reviewed after receiving the produts for honest review
